The competition has drawn participation from a total of 8 universities and higher learning institutions, each sending forth their most promising student writers and readers.
UNILAK has gone the extra mile by ensuring representation from all of its three campuses, underlining the institution’s dedication to fostering a well-rounded literary culture.
This milestone has been made possible due to the relentless efforts of the Offices of Students’ Affairs across all campuses and the diligent Campus Coordinators, who have worked tirelessly to orchestrate this literary spirit.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Mr. Mbanda Steven, a staff in the office of the dean of the students at UNILAK , said that this competition isn’t just about showcasing talent; it’s about igniting a passion for literature that will burn bright in these students’ lives.
The writing and reading competition is more than just a contest; it’s a concerted effort by the Rwanda Writers Association to cultivate a culture of literary engagement among university students.
The finals are set to take place next week on the 15th of August, 2023.
