International Students

International students studying at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK) have commended its efforts in offering quality education and improving their wellbeing so that they can concentrate on pursuing academic excellence without disruptions.

UNILAK is among private universities in Rwanda reputed for quality education that attracts local and international students.

The university receives new students every year including foreigners from African countries pursuing quality education.

Today, the university has close to 600 international students from more than 15 African countries including Liberia, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Mauritania, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Congo, Gabon, Chad, the DRC, and Angola among others.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

UNILAK has its own model for dealing with internationalization of its Research, Teaching and Learning, Community Engagement, and international student support services. UNILAK adopted a de-centralised internationalization model which means that most international student services are integrated with the student services to international students communities and associations. However, the Directorate of Student Affairs provides support on aspects that pertain uniquely to International Students.
For International Students to be admitted, they will need to provide the following:

  • Equivalence of Secondary School
  • Certification/Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree
  • Copy of International Passports
  •  ⁠ Photos Passports 
  • Payment of 5$ for Admission
  • Payment of 50$ for Registration
  •  ⁠Payment of 80$ for Medical Insurance (this is mandatory)
  •  The application is done online
  •  ⁠Payment is done by using world remit or international bank transfer
