The newly elected students’ committee (UNILAKSU) in the Kigali Campus took oath of office on Friday November 5th, 2021. The swearing in ceremony saw 30 elected students of the committee.
“You will be successful if and only you aim high and for the best! You have to set strategies and learn to plan ahead. The country needs young people who task their minds and do all it takes to transform the lives of Rwandans”, said Dr. Emmanuel Hakizimana, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics and Research at UNILAK.
He thanked the outgoing committee for its achievements and promised the new one a strengthened collaboration and partnership.
The outgoing committee told the incoming one to try to be more collaborative with students they represent and instill innovation in their mandate to make difference from the previous committees.
“We congratulate the newly elected committee and therefore encourage them to be more innovative than the preceding committees.” Said Ms. Ihogoza Myriam, the outgoing guild president.
Murenzi Sam, a 3rd year in Finance was elected as the guild president and unveils his commitment to serve students who bestowed trust on him as well as the society.
“We will work day and night to achieve more and meet our targets; we also intend to increase outreach activities for the service to our society;” said Murenzi Sam, the current Guild President.
Members of that umbrella are annually elected. At the beginning of each mandate, elected committee pledge to accomplish many activities mainly to strengthen the collaboration between the students and the institution management.
