Students from the Human Resource Management (HRM) program at UNILAK’s Nyanza Campus recently undertook an academic field trip to CHUB Hospital, in a move aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world professional practice.
During the visit, the students engaged directly with the hospital’s Human Resource Office, where they were introduced to key HR functions within a healthcare setting. The interactive session provided valuable insights into recruitment processes, staff management, performance evaluation, and workplace policies specific to medical institutions.
The field trip offered students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on professional and technical experience, allowing them to better understand the practical application of HR theories studied in class. Through discussions and observations, the students also explored the challenges and responsibilities faced by HR professionals in managing a dynamic workforce in the health sector.
